CHEMEX
What you’ll need:
- 27 grams of coffee
- Chemex coffee maker
- Paper filter
- Scale
- Timer
Follow these steps to make your coffee at home:
- Boil 500 ml of water.
- Unfold the paper filter, and insert it into the top of your Chemex coffee maker. Wet the paper filter to reduce any potential for a paper or cardboard taste in your coffee and preheat the Chemex. Then pour the excess water out through the spout.
- Add 27 grams of medium-coarse coffee to the filter.
- Add 60 ml of water to cover the coffee grounds, pouring in the inner circle, and moving out in circles to begin the pre-infusion process. Then wait for 30 seconds.
- Start pouring the remaining water, starting with 210 ml, beginning in the inner circle and moving out in small circles to create turbulence and a constant pour.
- Continue by pouring the remaining 100 ml of water in small circles to complete the brewing process, and let the coffee steep. Total pour time should take 4 minutes.
- Dispose of the filter and mix the coffee well before serving.
